2014-06-12-1: Another Portrait

Had a portrait of Judge Steven Hansen today who is retiring and it turned out pretty alright!

Today's assignments were, uh, uneventful. Maybe un-artful would be the better term. I had a 5K that was supposed to have clowns, didn't have clowns. I had some other assignments, but I'm not feeling those too much, so here is a portrait I shot for NPR back when I was in Michigan. It was of Stephen Papa, a veteran who has fallen on some hard times with nearly zero assistance from the government on his quest to hold a job and keep his affairs in order after an injury in the service. He's an incredibly nice, genuine dude and I wish him beyond well. Here are some photos from our afternoon of portraits.

2014-06-11: Final Rodeo

Saturday was my last day at that same rodeo, which was a blessing. Had tons of fun, but it was a haul to get there everyday and made for some real long days. Had to focus on action and look for people from our coverage area, and was glad to see this guy fit both criteria: Utah County, nice light.

Should be another busy week. Started a little story today, have an article to write, and it's still just Spenser and I. Need July, Ian and our new staffer (whoever that ends up being) to come quick.
