2013-11-29: Jackson Citizen Patriot- Portraits

Hey All!

So I've been struggling to jump between websites, start a new blog, and I've been in a bit of a slump shooting lately during a slower fall than expected. I'll be putting up lots of pictures from story outtakes and recent and old assignments at the Citizen Patriot and some back logged posts from The Denver Post.

(To look at my older blog and past work head to granthindsley.tumblr.com!)

I'll start off with some portraits I've been doing here in Jackson.

Portraits have always been difficult for me. I constantly am over thinking, losing sleep and worrying about having so much control over a photographic situation. While in Jackson, I've been trying to own up to that, and take the standard business portrait or headshot assignment and get a bit more comfortable and work with them a bit. Definitely still rough in my book, but here are some recent attempts.

Chloe Winans: 9-year-old bow hunter who bagged her first buck, a 7-point.

Zoe Schultz: 7-year-old bow hunter

Sue Clark: Owner of Four Paws Pet Center

Lisa Shaw: Preschool Director

Takakuni Ikuma: Muscian, friend, badass.

David Viviano: New Michigan Supreme Court Justice.

Jeff Reasoner: Corrections Officer Honor Guard researching death of a corrections officer at the old state prison in 1893.

Nancy Frederick: White House volunteer and John F. Kennedy memorabilia collector.

Margery Roberts: Grandson dedicated his first MLB home run ball to her late husband.

Thanks for looking! More later today.
